GE Pressure and vacuum system

The high vacuum active AGSS with adjustable flow is a closed system with a needle valve and a waste gas reservoir bag. If the Aespire, Avance, or Aisys closed system AGSS becomes occluded or if the hospital vacuum source is lost, back pressure will build in the anesthesia system and expand the waste gas reservoir bag until gas is relieved to atmosphere by the 10 cmH 2 O positive pressure relief valve.

  • Vacuum brake - Wikipedia

The vacuum brake is a braking system employed on trains and introduced in the mid-1860s. A variant, the automatic vacuum brake system, became almost universal in British train equipment and in countries influenced by British practice. Vacuum brakes also enjoyed a brief period of adoption in the United States, primarily on narrow-gauge railroads. Their limitations caused them to be progressively superseded by compressed air systems starting in the United Kingdom from the 1970s onward. The vacuum

  • The Fundamentals of Vacuum Theory

Aug 10, 2018 · The manner in which a gas flows in a vacuum system is dependent on the gas pressure. At rough vacuum pressures above approximately 1 mbar (.015 PSI), continuum (or viscous) flow prevails. At these pressures, the molecules are relatively close together, and their collisions more frequent. Therefore flow is governed by interaction between molecules.

  • A Brief Discussion of Pressure and Vacuum Levels

A vacuum gauge is used to measure the pressure in a vacuum—which is typically divided into two subcategories, high (i.e., hard) vacuum and low (i.e,, soft) vacuum. To select the right pressure device for a specific application requires one to know the desired pressure range and the capability of the pumping system to achieve the desired pressure. Vacuum sensors measure a certain pressure in comparison to a reference pressure and can be divided into absolute, gage and differential devices

  • Why vacuum may be lost or not maintained in steam turbine system?

The condenser cannot stand the steam pressure, the condenser tubes may leak from excessive temperature. Excessive pressure will also damage the shell, the exhaust and the low-pressure parts of the turbine. Identifying leaks: First, find the leak by passing a flame over the suspected part while the condenser is under vacuum. Leaks in the flange joints or porous castings can be stopped with asphalt paint or shellac.

  • Condenser Backpressure High? Check Vacuum System Sizing

Vacuum System StandardsAir-Venting DevicesFactory Tests Versus Hei RequirementsComparing CalculationsHybrid ArrangementsClosing ThoughtsThe Heat Exchange Institute’s (HEI’s) Standards for Steam Surface Condensersprovides clear directions on capacity requirements for venting equipment when operating in either holding or hogging modes. The capacity in the holding mode is more critical, as it has a direct effect on megawatt generation. The HEI recommends that the capacity of venting equipment in the holding mode “be no less than the values shown in [HEI’s] Table 9 at the design suction pressure to ensure adequate removal capacity under commercial operating conditions.” The HEI defines the design suction pressure for electric generation service as “1.0 inch HgA or the condenser design pressure, whichever is lower.” In addition, the HEI states that the saturation temperature of the gas vapor mixture must be considered as the steam temperature corresponding to the design pressure of the venting equipment less the greater of 7.5F or 0.25 (Tsat –Tcw,inlet). Tsat is the saturation temperature of the liquid in the condenser a...
